The aim of the project is to promote the centre's floral diversity and bring botanical knowledge closer to visitors in a more accessible way.
The Globalcaja Albacete Foundation has financed the project to renovate the signage for the flora housed in the Botanical Garden of Castilla-La Mancha (JBCLM). The new informative signs are intended to improve knowledge of floral diversity and provide visitors with more direct and attractive access to botanical knowledge.
The Botanical Garden, covering an area of seven hectares and dedicated mainly to the conservation, dissemination and research of continental Mediterranean flora, has a collection of around 28,000 living plants, belonging to some 2,100 plant taxa.
It is a living museum, where 40 habitats of Castilla-La Mancha can be seen, with 25 per cent of the species appearing in the Regional Catalogue of Threatened Species.
Through this project, the Globalcaja Foundation demonstrates its commitment to conservation and respect for the environment, highlighting the beauty of our land's flora.
