Job vacancy at the JBCLM
The Botanical Garden of Castilla-La Mancha, in Albacete, is offering a contract associated with the project Ex situ conservation of 12 endangered plant species in Castilla-La Mancha. Development of germination ecology protocols, funded by the Directorate-General for the Natural Environment and Biodiversity of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, with a duration of four months and a non-qualified technician category (collective gardening agreement). The tasks of the contract will be carried out within the framework of technical assistance for the management of germplasm of protected and endangered flora in Castilla-La Mancha.
Requirements for applicants:
Hold a vocational training qualification: Advanced Technician in Landscaping and Rural Environment or in Forestry and Natural Environment Management.

- Copy of national identity card (Spain or European Union member state).
- Copy of academic qualification.

Selection criteria:
For the selection of candidates, the following will also be considered (these are not essential requirements for submitting an application):
- Demonstrable experience in germplasm banks, including the conservation, cleaning and preparation of seeds for long-term storage and maintenance.
- Demonstrable experience in the management and maintenance of living plant collections in botanical gardens, with preference given to those that include endangered or endemic species.
- Experience in plant production, both in propagation techniques and in the cultivation and management of plants in nurseries.
- Experience in conducting censuses, inventories and/or sampling in the natural environment.
- Type B driving licence.
- Specialisation or accredited knowledge of the flora of Castilla-La Mancha will be specifically valued.
